I got into ice hockey because my company had a bunch of die hards who wanted to start up a team. Having never skated on ice before I felt a bit dubious, but it's turned out to be a huge passion of mine. This combined with watching the women play at Nagano and I was soon spending lots of money at East West Hockey.

Now I was playing on two teams, Blue Martini and The Road Runners. The girlfriend put up with it for a season but my checkbook couldn't stomach the league fees, so now I'm back down to just playing for Blue Martini at Ice Oasis which is a generally friendly place and has good referees, though the locker rooms are a tad on the "spartan" side.

UPDATE

Blue Martin wins the Summer 2002 Stanley Keg! In a consistantly close and hard-fought game, Blue Martini emerged victorious over the #1 team, Inktomi!
